Chapter 7

The Birthday Proposal

Scene 1

JaeKyung visited JunKi at his condo.

“Sorry, I’ve to leave early the last night. How did it go?” JaeKyung asked.

“Well, what can I say? Besides getting punch in the face by JunPyo in front of the large crowd. That guy is a crazy asshole and not to mention that he’s very possessive toward JanDi. I didn’t get far with my plan.” JunKi explained.

“Sorry to hear that. I didn’t realize that it will turn out like this. Why don’t you call JanDi? She probably feels sorry for you about what happened last night. It’s good to use this to your advantage.”

“If I make my move too fast, she will get suspicious. JanDi is a very smart and witty person. It’ll be hard to seduce a lawyer like her.”

“Of course, I didn’t say it was going to be easy. If you can’t make her fall in love with you, then find another way to blackmail her into being with you.” She told him.

“Blackmail? Don’t you think that you’re being a little harsh on your little sister?” He was furious at her.

“Not at all, if she hasn’t been born, my parents would have loved me. She took all my loved ones away from me. She deserved everything that’s coming to her. JunKi, if you still want to be my friend, you’ll need to accomplish this task. I’ll give you the reward that you’ve been waiting for.” She grabbed his shirt collar and pulled him toward her as she gave him a passionate kiss on the lips.

After leaving JunKi’s condo, JaeKyung drove to her parent’s house. She has not seen them for the last 7 years. Ringing the door bell, her dad opened the door.

“Appa, I missed you so much. How are you?” JaeKyung hugged her dad.

He embraced her warmly, “JaeKyung, my little girl. It’s good to see you again. When did you return to Korea?”

“I just moved back to Korea a month ago. I’m staying at a condo near my work. How is Omma doing?” She wondered.

“Her condition has been improving, but she still called for JanDi from time to time. You should know that your Omma missed JanDi very much.” Mr. Geum explained.

JaeKyung was irritated when she heard JanDi’s name, “Appa, I bought some groceries from the market. Why don’t I cook dinner for you and Omma?”

“Sure darling, come in. Your mom will be glad to see you.” He led her inside the house.

“Yobo, who are you talking to?” Mrs. Geum came out of the living room.

“It’s our daughter, JaeKyung. She has returned from Los Angeles. She’s here to visit us.” Mr. Geum said.

Mrs. Guem’s eyes widen when she saw her, “JaeKyung?? You really have the nerve to show your face here again. Do you think that I’ve forgiving for the lost of my child, JanDi??!!” She screamed at her.

“Omma, please calm down. It was 15 years ago. Please forgive me.” She knelt down on the floor.

“I’ll never forgive you. Get your out of my house. NOW!!” Her mother lost her temper. She took the grocery bags and threw it on the floor and step on it.

Mr. Geum was furious at his wife action toward JaeKyung, “Yobo, calm down. You’ve gone too far this time. The accident was not JaeKyung’s fault. It’s our fault for not looking after them.”

He turned to JaeKyung, “JaeKyung, it’s better if you come back next time since your mother is not herself today. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay, Appa. I will be leaving now.”

Scene 2

Halmoni walked passed the living room and spotted JunPyo sitting alone.

“What’s wrong?” She asked him.

“It’s JanDi. I have been trying to tell her about my feeling for her but she has been avoiding me these past few days.” JunPyo explained.

“Are you planning to take your relationship to the next step? If you’re serious about her then I suggest that the two of you get marry soon. I want to hold my first great-grandchild soon.” She told him.

“Don’t you think it’s a little fast? I have known her for about a month and I’ve not properly court her on a date yet.”

“JunPyo, life is too short. If she’s the right woman for you and you’re in love with her. What are you waiting for?” She asked him.

“I’m waiting for an opportunity to let her know how much I loved her and that I wanted to marry her.” JunPyo responded.

“I’ve an idea. JanDi’s birthday is coming up next week. I’ll make the arrangements with the hotel to have it set-up and invite her friends to the party. I’ll leave it up to you what you’re planning to do afterward.”

“Halmoni. Thanks for you help.” He gave her a warm hug.

“JunPyo, I want to see you settle down and start a family soon. You’re very lucky to meet a perfect girl like JanDi. Don’t you dare hurt her..Remember that.” Halmoni told him.

Scene 3

As her 22nd birthday approached JunPyo prepared for the proposal. He went to Tiffany & Co. store to pick up a diamond engagement ring. It was already 6 o’clock when JanDi left work. She noticed a red Ferrari car parked in front of the building.

“What are you doing here?” JanDi asked.

“Today is your birthday. I’m taking you out on a romantic dinner.” JunPyo smiled.

“There is no need. I’m going to spend my birthday with Halmoni.” She declined his offer.

“But Halmoni told me to pick you up. Why don’t I take you there? Come on, get in” He got out of the car to open the passenger door to let her inside the car. 

“This is not the way back home.” JanDi told him.

“Who said that Halmoni is waiting for you at home?”

“But I need to change out of my work clothes.” JanDi said.

“We’re going to be late for your party. I’m taking you to the clothing store.”

Once they reached the store, JunPyo selected a dress for JanDi and led her toward the dressing room.  He stay by the waiting room. After she came out of the dressing room, he suddenly lifted his head to look at her. The dress fitted her perfectly showing her curves and slender legs.

"Wow JanDi. You look amazing in this dress." he complimented. He turned to the sale associate, "We'll take this dress."
 
At 8 PM, they've arrived at the hotel. JunPyo guided to the ballroom which was dark and quiet.

“Are you sure this is the right place?” JanDi asked.

Then suddenly the light was turned on and everyone was yelling, ”Surprise! Happy Birthday, JanDi!!” JanDi was shocked to see her friends and Halmoni standing on stage. There was a four-layers vanilla birthday cake in the middle of the stage.

“Oh my god. This is a surprise. Who plan this?” JanDi asked.

“Happy Birthday, sweetie. JunPyo and I planned your surprise birthday party. I made the arrangements for your friends to come here and celebrate your birthday. Did you think I forgot that today is your birthday?”

“Of course not, Halmoni. It's the day that I've met you. But, the two of us always go out to dinner on my birthday.” JanDi said.

“Yes. But this year, you should celebrate it with your friends and family.” She explained to her.

“Thank you, halmoni. You’re the best.”

She turned her attention to her friends, “Thank you everyone for taking time out of your busy schedule to celebrate my birthday. I really glad you could make it here.”

During dinner, JanDi chatted with her close friends, “JanDi, isn’t that guy Goo JunPyo? I’ve heard that he’s one of the hottest bachelors in Korea. Every woman in Korea would jump on him in a heartbeat. He must be good in bed.” She glanced over to JunPyo who was sitting at another table with halmoni.

JanDi almost choke on her food, “Excuse me! Do you want to get with him? Here is his number. He’s still available.” She wrote JunPyo’s number down and handed to her friend.

Halmoni walked over to JanDi’s table, “JanDi, it’s time for you to cut the cake. Why don’t you go on stage?”

“Sure.” She went up on stage to cut her cake.

The moment JanDi went back to her seat, JunPyo got up on stage.

“Hello everyone. I’m Goo Jun Pyo. I would like to sing a song as a gift for JanDi.” 

He sang the song: My Everything. The crowd started cheering.

Near the end of the song, he walked toward JanDi, “You’re my everything, JanDi.”
He got down on one knee and open the black velvet box that contain the 5-carat Tiffany & Co. Novo diamond ring, “I wanted to be with you forever, for infinity, and for eternity. You’re the only woman for me and I wanted to have a family with you. Will you marry me?”

Tears began trickle down her cheek, the man that she wanted to marry was right in front of her, she nodded her head in confirmation, “Yes! I’ll marry you.” She extended her left hand to him and he slipped the diamond ring in her ring finger. 


“JanDi, I love you so much.” He lifted her off the chair, hauling her into his arms as he pressed his lips against her mouth and kissing her delicately. 

“Congratulation to both of you.” Halmoni standing beside them.

“Thank you all for attending my birthday and witnessing my engagement tonight.” JanDi said her goodbye to her friends at the end of the event.

Scene 4

[JunKi’s condo]

JaeKyung slammed the newspaper on the table. “Did you see this morning newspaper? JanDi and JunPyo are getting married.”

“What else can I do? It’s too late.” JunKi reponded.

“No, there is still a month before the wedding.” she said. 

“I’ve got another plan. Meet me at the hotel tonight.”

“What are planning to do?” JunKi asked her.

“You’ll find out later.” She smiled.

 After leaving his place. she drove to JanDi’s workplace. Once she reached the office, she saw JanDi walked passed.

“Oh JanDi. How are you?” JaeKyung approached her.

“Hello, Shelly. What bring you here?” JanDi asked.

“I’ve some questions about the merger that I need to speak with you.” She replied.

“Yes, sure. Do you want to come into my office?” JanDi suggested.

“No, I’ll take you to lunch so we can talk. I’ll wait for you in the front entrance.” JaeKyung said.







"Ok, I've to get my stuff, I'll be there in 5 minutes." 


While JanDi was waiting for the elevator, two men came up behind her holding a rag full of chloroform and cover her nose and mouth with it. She lost consciousness. They placed her inside the black car and drove off.
 
[Hotel]
 
JunKi entered inside the room to find JaeKyung waiting for him, “Is there a reason why I’m meeting you here?”

She handed him the wine glass, “To celebrate.”

“Celebrate what?” He was confused.

“My victory over JanDi.” She laughed harshly.


After drinking the whole glass of wine, he felt dizzy and lost consciousness. 

JaeKyung placed him on the bed and remove his clothes.

“Bring her in now.” JaeKyung called her men.

The two men carried JanDi inside the hotel and place her beside JunKi. JaeKyung pulled out her phone camera and took pictures of them sleeping together. 

“This is how I’m going to ruin your life, JanDi.” She hurriedly left the hotel before both of them regain consciousness.

A few hours later, JunKi woke up to find a woman sleeping beside him. He turned her face around, “JanDi, wake up.” He called her.

She slowly regained consciousness to find JunKi naked beside her, “How did you and I end up here? Did we…”

“No, I don’t believe we did anything..This must be part of Shelly’s plan.” JunKi stated.

“Why would she do this to me?”

He put on his clothes, “There is something you should know about Shelly.”

“What is it?” She asked.

“Her real name is not Shelly Kim. It’s Geum JaeKyung. She’s your stepsister. Ever since she found out the news that she was adopted; she has been holding grudge against you. That’s the reason why she tried to get rid of you in Jeongbang Waterfall. She hired private investigators to research your background after you told her about your past childhood story. That’s how she found out about your real identity.” He explained to her.

Glancing at his watch, he told her, “We don’t have much time left. Get dress. If she showed the picture of us to JunPyo then your marriage will be over.”

“Shelly real name is JaeKyung??..that name sounds familiar. How could my own sister do this to me?” At that moment, the memory of her childhood event came flooding back. She was feeling overwhelmed and fainted in JunKi's arms.

“JanDi…” He tried to wake her up.

Slowly opened her eyes, she realzied that she was in her bedroom.

“Halmoni.” She whispered.

“Ah…you’ve come round at last.” She said softly.

“What happened?” JanDi asked in a low voice

“Someone brought you to the mansion..I believe his name is JunKi. He told me that you fainted. Are you alright?” She touched JanDi’s face.

“I can recall my childhood. My real name is Geum JanDi. Halmoni, can you research about the Geum family for me? I want to see my parents.” She pleaded.

“Of course, my dear. I’ll contact the police and tell them about this. At the beginning, I didn't contact the police because you don't remember your parents and I don't want you to be raised by the wrong family. It’s good to know that you’ve finally recall your memory.” She hugged JanDi.

“Thanks halmoni. Where’s JunPyo?” She asked.

“I’ve been trying to contact him, but his phone was turned off. It’s already 11 PM and he has not returned home. Where could he be?” Halmoni wondered.

Chapter 6

Chapter 6: Simply Irresistible

Scene 1

The final week of the merger was coming to a close. Lawyers on both sides met with representatives of two companies meet at the conference room to finalize the details of the merger.

JanDi explained the merger terms and conditions to both parties, “By merging Panasonic Corporation into Samsung Electronics Co., the brand name of Panasonic Corporation will be changed to Samsung Electronics Co. Of Panasonic Corporation employees, according to their positions, 75% will remain, and the other 25% will be reassigned or laid off. If these conditions are not met before the deal is closed, both parties may refuse without burden of liability. Afterward, if a guarantee or contract term is violated; compensation for damages must be made, according to the contract stipulations. But going forward and selling off Panasonic Corporation under bad advisement misrepresents the importance of the merger's effect as the savior for the company's capital and finances. If both parties agreed with the terms, please sign this contract.” 

She handed the contract to both parties. JunPyo and the CEO of Panasonic Corporation reviewed and signed the contract. Both parties shook hands and announced to the media that a merger agreement had been reached.

After a successful merger between Panasonic Corporation and Samsung Electronics Co., Mr. Lee called JunPyo to his office.

“JunPyo, congratulation on successfully merge Panasonic Corporation into Samsung Electronics Co. You have done a good job.” Mr. Lee praised him.

“Thank you, sir. I’ve check our company stock quotes and the price of our shares dramatically increase when the merger news was announce to the public this afternoon . Many investors are interested in investing in our company when they heard about the news.” JunPyo informed Mr. Lee.

“That’s good news. You’ve been working very hard to make our company prosper. The future of this company is looking bright. Unfortunately, I’m planning to retire at the beginning of next month. I would need a successor to take over my position. You have been carrying yourself very well as a Vice President. I’m entrusting you to be the next CEO of Samsung Electronics Co.” Mr. Lee told him.

”It’s an honor to become the next CEO of Samsung Electronics Co. Thank you for putting your trust and faith in me. This company has grown tremendously under your care. I’ll continue to work hard to expand this company. Enjoy your retirement, Mr. Lee.”

“Thank you, JunPyo. I really appreciate it.” Mr. Lee shook hands with JunPyo.

Scene 2

JunPyo went back to his office. After he closed the door, he suddenly realized that JaeKyung was sitting on the sofa waiting for him to show up.

“Congratulations on the merger! We ought to go out and celebrate since the merger has been completed. Let’s go out for dinner tonight. It’ll be my treat and I’ll make the arrangements. You can bring JanDi along too.” JaeKyung suggested.

“It would be a great opportunity for us to relax after stressful times.” JunPyo agreed.

“Great. My friend JunKi will be there tonight. He’s the real estate tycoon that I’ve told you.” JaeKyung announced.

“Yes, I remembered you told me about him. I’m looking forward to meet him.” Unbeknown to him, that he has already met JunKi at the company’s event.

“Ok, great. I’ll call you after work.” JaeKyung was about to leave the room when she heard someone knocking on the door.

“Come in.” JunPyo stated.

JanDi entered inside his office, “JanDi, you did a great job representing our company today. Shelly suggested that we all go out tonight to celebrate since we’re done with the merger.” JunPyo informed her.

“JanDi, why don’t you join us?” JaeKyung walked toward JanDi’s direction.

“Sure, if you insist. Thanks for inviting me.” JanDi responded.

“Great. I’ll call JunPyo after work to inform you where we’ll be meeting. See you tonight.” JaeKyung left the room.

The moment she left JunPyo’s office, she grabbed her cell phone and dial JunKi’s number.

“The plan is set. Meet me at the VIP club tonight at 8 PM.” She told him.

“Alright, I’ll be there.” JunKi said.

Scene 3
 

Upon arriving at the VIP club, JaeKyung and JunKi were waving at JanDi and JunPyo to join them at the table. 

 

“Hey, it’s nice to see you both here. This is my friend JunKi that I’ve told you about” JaeKyung said.

The moment he saw JunKi, his arm fastened tightly round JanDi’s shoulders. He wasn’t taking any chances on letting her escape his side. 

“So you’re Lee JunKi.” JunPyo recalled meeting him before. JanDi noticed the tension between the two men.

‘Hello JunKi. It’s nice to see you again.” JanDi said.

JunKi took her hand gently in his own and brushed his lips across her skin.

“You look very beautiful this evening, JanDi.” JunKi voice was warm and seductive.

JunPyo didn’t like the way JunKi was staring at her. The way he was looking at her made him feel uneasy. Both JunPyo and JanDi sat across from JaeKyung and JunKi.

JunPyo leaned over to JanDi and whispered, “Dressed as you’re tonight, who could resist you? The dress is a little too revealing.” His glance moved over the mini dress with copper, sage, pale blue and pink silk trim and asymmetric straps that she was wearing.

The waiter arrived to take their orders. They ordered red wine, sashimi and assorted sushi rolls for dinner.
JaeKyung picked up her wine glass, “Here is a toast to JunPyo. Mr. Lee told me about your promotion. I would like to congratulate you on becoming the next CEO of Samsung Electronics Co.”

“Congratulation, JunPyo. I heard the news about the merger between Samsung Electronics Co. and Panasonic Corporation was a success. The reporter named you the #1 top executive in Korea” JunKi said.

“Congratulation on your promotion. Did you tell halmoni about this?” JanDi asked him.

“No, I’m planning on telling her tomorrow since I didn’t have time today.” JunPyo told her.

The waiter brought their food to the table. JaeKyung placed sushi rolls on JunPyo’s dish, “Try this, it’s delicious.” JaeKyung tried to distract his attention away from JanDi in order for JunKi to make his move.

JanDi felt slightly jealous when she saw the way JaeKyung was being attentive toward JunPyo and acting like she was his girlfriend.

JanDi took the wine bottle and pour it on her glass. She consumed a whole glass of wine in just one sip and poured herself another glass. Later she turned her attention to JunKi,

“Did you find a place to set up your real estate company?” JanDi asked him

“I’ve been busy looking at the location to set up my company.” He responded.

“Oh, I know a few people that are looking to sell their office buildings so if you are interested I could let them contact you.” JanDi said.

“That would be great, I really appreciate it.”

“No problem. You already have my contact if you need with any help just give me a call.” JanDi smiled.

“Thanks, I’ll definitely give you a call.” he smiled back.

After dinner, they headed toward the bar.

“I’ll be back.” JunPyo headed toward the men’s restroom.

“There is an important call I’ve to make. I’ll be right back. ” JaeKyung lied. She leaned over to JunKi and whispered in his ear, “She’s all yours.”

JunKi glanced over to the dance floor and thought this was the best way to get close to JanDi.

“JanDi, may I have this dance?” JunKi extended his hand to her.

JanDi was a little apprehensive before taking his hand, “Ok, sure.” JunKi led her toward the crowded dance floor. 

“You’re the beautiful woman that I have every met.” He whispered in her ear. He was staring into her eyes while his hand slipping around her waist and pulling her close to him.

JunPyo returned to the bar and didn’t see anyone there. He was roaming the dancing floor searching for JanDi. The moment he saw JunKi and JanDi dancing intimately, he walked over to them and punched JunKi in the face.

“She’s my woman. Don’t lay your hands on her.” JunPyo warned him.

JunPyo slipped his arm around her waist and drew her close to his side. He turned to look at JanDi and covered her mouth with his. She was speechless by his actions. 

“Let’s go home. It’s getting late.” He told her.

Scene 4

JunPyo gently help her to inside the car and fastened her seatbelt.

“We’re back.” JunPyo’s voice jolted her into awareness. She lifted her head from his shoulder.

“I’m sorry about that,” she apologized as she struggle to sit up. He reached across her to open her door.

“I’ll help you up to your room. Just to make sure you don’t fall asleep again on the way.”

The mansion was in darkness, completely silent, and JunPyo reached for a switch illuminating the hallway. His fingers curled around her arm as he led her to the stairs to her room. JanDi wasn’t sure why she suddenly swayed her body toward him. JunPyo moved swiftly, supporting her weight as he pushed open the door, and half carried her inside. Closing the door behind them, he studies her in the soft glow of the lamp he switched on.

“This..” he touched the soft folds of her dress, “is a little too short. It exposed your long slenderer legs and I’m no more immune to than any other male.” He whispered huskily, “Tonight, you’re going to be mine. I want you, JanDi”

“I want you too.” The words sounded thick and unfamiliar on her tongue, and for a second she couldn’t believe she has said them.

He was holding her right up against him, so close that she could feel his erection. She could feel the fierce thudding of his heart matching the rhythm of her own. Her hands touched his hair, caressing the nape of his neck, the physical sensation of his skin beneath her fingers making her feel weak and dizzy with arousal. Her whole body shuddering with pressure when he cupped her breast and then slowly circled his fingertip around her nipple. She felt one of his hand reached toward the side zipper of her dress and swiftly removed it from her body. It left her exposed and vulnerable with nothing on but the black lace panties. JanDi crossed her arms over her breasts. His fingers curled round her wrists tugging gently until she was forced to uncross her arms.

"JunPyo,.please.." she murmured his name as his hands slid down to her waist, removed her panties. JunPyo pushed her against the hardness of his thighs, leaving her in no doubt as to his arousal. Her body responded instinctively to the knowledge that he wanted her, her hips rotating rhythmically against him.

“I want you against me like this.” JunPyo groaned, wrenching open his shirt, careless of the damage to button and fabric as he pulled her back into his arms, crushing the softness of her breasts against the warmth of his chest. She helped him remove the remaining of his clothes. He lay her gently down on the bed. He kissed the side of her throat and then her collarbone. His tongue traced down to her breasts and stroked her nipple until her body arched. His fingers sank deep inside and drew out creamy honey. He licked his finger with his tongue without taking his gaze off hers. His hands stroked delicate patterns on her inner thigh and spreading her thighs apart. He surged forward with one slow stroke, burying himself deep, driving through the soft folds until he hits her womb. He tilted her hips, pushing deeper, forcing her to take all of him. He thrust hard, over and over, ignoring her pleas as he took her higher and higher, until she whimpering for release. She began to throw her head back and forth, but he held her still, plunging his body into hers, taking them both to the very heights of paradise. The pleasure had been so very much more than she had imagined. JunPyo rolled her over onto her side and held her tightly against him arms.

“Do you love me, JunPyo?” No answer. The man beside her was sleeping.

Scene 5

JanDi slowly recalled the intimacy they had share last night. She left JunPyo sleeping, easing herself away from his body and taking care not to wake him. She flung back the covers, slipping from the bed and put on her dressing gown. It was ten o’clock on Saturday and Halmoni was wondering why JunPyo and JanDi didn’t show up for breakfast. She first knocked on JunPyo’s door to see if he was still sleeping, but there was no sight of him in the room.

Later she knocked on JanDi’s door and walked inside the room to find JunPyo sleeping on the bed completely naked. Halmoni was confused at the scene she was witnessing. She heard the small sound of a bathroom door opened and saw that JanDi was fully dressed. JanDi guided Halmoni to the living room so that she can explain the situation.

“JanDi, what’s going on? Did…did you sleep with JunPyo last night?” Halmoni asked her.

“I’m sorry, halmoni. I didn’t know what I was thinking when I let him entered my room. I’m afraid I had too much wine last night and it hindered me from thinking clearly.” JanDi broke down and cried.

“My dear child, don’t worry about this. I’ll make sure JunPyo take responsibility for his actions. There is no need for you to cry. After all, I’ve always wanted you to be with my grandson. I know you were in love with him since you were 6 years old.” Halmoni told her.

“Halmoni, I’m afraid that JunPyo doesn’t love me the way I’ve love him for the past 15 years. There haven’t been single days that I do not think about him. How can I be sure that he loves me?” JanDi asked.

“Sweetie, of course he is in love with you. I can see the way looked at you when he first met you at the airport.” Halmoni explained.

“I’m unsure about his feeling for me. He could be playing me like he did to other women.”

“As far as I know, he has no girlfriend in New York because he’s busy with his study and helping his father business. JunPyo has been living here for almost a month. You should give him a chance JanDi. Why don’t you two go out on several dates to get to know each other?” Halmoni suggested.

“I’m sorry..I…I don’t think this is a good idea.” JanDi told her.

JunPyo entered the living room, “What’s not a good idea?” he asked JanDi. She lowered her head when she saw him.

“Halmoni, can you please leave JanDi and I to talk?” he told his grandmother. 

“Of course, you two will need to discuss about what happened last night. JunPyo you’ll need to man up for what you did last night.” She walked out of the living room.

JunPyo sat on the sofa next to JanDi, “JanDi, my desire for you has become uncontrollable that I couldn’t stop myself. I’m glad that I was the first man in your life. Why don’t you and I spend sometime alone together?” He took her hand and kissed it.

JanDi immediately release her hand from him, “You don’t have to feel responsible for what happened last night. It was just casual sex between us.”

“JanDi….” She ran out of the living room before he could finish his sentence.

Chapter 5: The Proposition

Scene 1

“Yes, I’m interested in her, but not in that kind of way. You know very well that I like you very much and I’ve already given up my playboy act. There is no need for you to be jealous.” JunKi assured her.

She gave him a curious look. “Do you think you could fool me? I can tell that you like her when I saw the way you looked at her.”

“But the guy that dragged her out of the room is her boyfriend. Isn’t he? It’s against my principles to steal someone else girlfriend.” He explained.

“In case you want to know, they’re just acquaintances.” She told him.

“I don’t care about other women beside you. You’re the only woman for me. To prove my love to you, I’m willing to settle down with you.” His tone was low and serious.

“Are you serious?” she asked.

“Yes, I’ve never been more serious in my life. Think about it and give it some thought.” JunKi said.

“I promise to think about it.” She nodded her head and gave him a lovely smile.

“Okay, let’s go. I’ll drop you off to your place.” He said tenderly.

The moment JanDi and JunPyo arrived at the mansion, JunPyo carried her out of the car and lifted her body on his shoulder. He walked upstairs to her room while JanDi was struggling against his held.

“Put me down right now or else I’m going to scream.” JanDi exclaimed.

“I dare you, if you want halmoni to see us in a compromising position. What do you think she would do?” JunPyo threatened her.

When he reached her bedroom, he lay her down on the bed, “JunPyo, please don’t do this. I..I’m not ready.” she began to panic.

JunPyo slowly climbed on top of her and whispered, “Shush…..I promise I won’t be doing anything to you. Let me stay here for just one night with you.”

He placed his arms around her to prevent her from moving. JanDi was too restless to fight him. After a few minutes, they both of them fall asleep in each other arms.

The next morning, JanDi slowly opened her eyes to see the man sleeping beside her. Her hand slowly traced the outline of his face, her fingers rested on his lips. She leaned closer to him then he suddenly reached for her and planting soft kisses on her face.

“Stop it..go to your room.”

“Shh..let me stay here with you for a while.” He lingered in bed, unwilling to leave the warmth of her soft body.

“Let me go or else I’m going to be late for work.”

“It’s okay. I’m your client so I can tell you when to report to work.” He muttered against her cheek.

“Hurry up and get up. Halmoni will be looking for us in any minute now.” JanDi pushed him off her bed.

“Yah!!, are you trying to kill me JanDi?” he cried out in pain.

“No, it’s not my intention, but you left me with no choice. Go back to your room JunPyo. I need to take a shower and get change.” She told him

“Alright, why don’t we take shower together?” He gave her a naughty look.

“Are you crazy? You’re really testing my patience. Get out of my room now.” She threw her pillows at him.

Scene 2

At 9 o’clock, JunPyo and JanDi arrived at Samsung’s building. JanDi spotted JaeKyung near JunPyo’s office

“Good Morning, Shelly.” JanDi greeted her.

“Oh, hello JanDi. I’m waiting to see JunPyo since I’ve some work to discuss with him.”

“Why don’t you come to my office? JanDi and I will be discussing about the merger plan today. Do you have the draft of the merger plan?” JunPyo asked.

“Yes, all of the legal documents are in this folder. I also include our company's financial statements, employment agreements, real estate and property holdings.” She handed it to him.

JaeKyung sat next to JanDi. “It’s nice to see you again JanDi. I’m sorry we didn’t have a chance to talk yesterday.”

“Oh, that’s no problem. Both of you were busy last night.” JanDi said.

JunPyo started to go over the documents with JanDi and JaeKyung. The merger dateline is in two weeks. They spent the entire morning reviewing legal documents together and discuss about the terms and conditions on the merger plan.

“JanDi take a look at this merger plan and the financial statements. I need you to prepare the merger contract and agreements base on this plan.”

“Sure, I’ll draft the merger agreement and contract in details. It’ll include the terms of each company’s rights, responsibilities and liabilities.”

“Let me know if there are any documents you may need.” JaeKyung informed her.

“Thanks.”

JunPyo glanced at his watch. “It’s already noon, let’s go out for lunch.”

JunPyo took them to a nearby Italian restaurant. While waiting for their food to be served, JaeKyung recalled what JunPyo told her last night.

“JunPyo mentions that you live at his grandmother house. How did you end up living there?” JaeKyung was curious to know.

“The accident happened 15 years ago. I almost drown in Jeongbang Waterfall. His grandmother found me unconscious and brought me to the hospital. I don’t remember anything about my childhood. The only thing I have is the pink bracelet that have my name engraved on it and it may have a connection with my past.”

JaeKyung accidentally spilled a glass of water all over the table. She was shock at what she just heard. “Is she really her sister, Geum JanDi? It can’t be true.” She thought.

JunPyo noticed JaeKyung’s strange reaction, “Is there something wrong?”

JaeKyung immediately standup and said, “Please excuse me, but I’m not feeling well right now. I’m sorry. Can we please discuss about the merger plan some other time?” JaeKyung told JunPyo and JanDi.

“Sure, no problem. We’ll see you on Monday. Take care.” JunPyo told her.

Scene 3

After lunch, JaeKyung immediately contact a private investigator to research JanDi’s background. She spent the entire night reviewing JanDi’s private record and medical record. It’s confirmed that she was her sister. From reviewing the medical record she found out that JanDi has amnesia from the accident. The news of JanDi was a shock to her since she never expected her to still be alive. All of her past childhood memories that she has been trying to suppress were coming back to her.

JaeKyung has never told anyone about her deep dark secret that she hidden for many years except for JunKi. He was the person that she trusted the most.  


The following day, JaeKyung visited JunKi’s condo.

JunKi opened the door to let her in. “Good morning, honey. What bring you here this early morning?” JunKi asked with a smile on his face.

“I’ve important news to tell you. Do you remember the story I’ve told you about my sister? I found out that she’s still alive. What am I going to do?” JaeKyung said.

“Woah! Calm down. Who’s she? Does she remember you?” JunKi asked.

“It’s JanDi. She’s my sister. She has amnesia from the accident and doesn’t remember anything about her past.” JaeKyung said.

“Shouldn’t you be happy that she’s still alive?” he asked.

“How can I be happy? If she found out who I am, she would never forgive me.”

“You’ve been living with guilty conscious for the past 15 years. If you’ve told her and your parents the truth, it’s still not too late.” He told her

“My parents can’t find out about JanDi. If they find out the truth, they will know that I was the one who tried to kill their own biological daughter. I can’t let that happen. JunKi, I’ve a proposition for you.” she said in a serious tone.


“What’s the proposition?” JunKi asked.

“I need you to seduce JanDi. Find a way to make her fall in love with you then make sure she leaves Korea as soon as possible.” She pleaded.

“How could you do this to your own sister?” He questioned her.

“I don’t have a choice. She’ll get in the way of my future. I need to get rid of her for good before she finds out the truth. Do you accept my preposition?”

“What would I get in return?” JunKi asked

“If you succeed in seducing her, I’ll give myself to you. Isn’t it what you always wanted?” She gave him seductive look.

“Yes, you’re the one who I desire the most. Remember to keep your promise.” He told her.

“You’ll need to make your move quickly since I want her to fall head over heels for you. Don’t worry about JunPyo, I will keep him from getting in your way. I know I can count on you to do this.” JaeKyung gave him a swift kiss before leaving.

After she left, JunKi was unsure of his decision. He wondered if he made the right choice by helping her out.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4: An Unexpected Surprise

Scene 1

After leaving JanDi’s room, JunPyo returned to his room to get ready for his first day of work. He’s dressed in Giorgio Armani black pinstripe suit.

When he came down for breakfast, JanDi and halmoni were happily having a pleasant conversation. Their conversation was cut short when JunPyo sat at the dining table.

“I didn't mean to interrupt, do continue with your conversation.” Jun Pyo said.

“That’s all right, JunPyo. We were just discussing about JanDi’s new job.” Halmoni stated.

“Oh really, what exactly do you do JanDi?” He glanced over to JanDi. She immediately turned to look at her plate.

“I’m a lawyer of Kim & Chang. I deal with mergers and acquisitions between large companies.” JanDi answered.

“I guess you would know about the merger that will occur between Samsung Electronics Co. and Panasonic Corporation. Are you familiar with this case, JanDi?” JunPyo asked.

She turned to look at him and replied politely. “Yes, my boss assigned me this case yesterday.” 

He leaned closer to her, “Really?..I received a phone call from the CEO of Samsung Electronics Co. today. He has placed me in charge of the merger between Samsung Electronics Co. and Panasonic Corporation. This means that you’ll need to work closely with me.” He winked at her.

“JanDi, my red Ferrari will be delivered here tonight. Can you drop me off to work today in the meantime?” JunPyo asked nicely. He knows that JanDi can’t decline his request since his grandmother is sitting next to her.

“Sure, I’ll be waiting for you in the car. Excuse me, halmoni. I’ll be home for dinner today.” JanDi quickly got up and leave.

“JunPyo, did you do something to JanDi? How come she always wants to leave the table every time she sees you? ” Halmoni gave JunPyo a suspicious look.

“No, I didn't do anything to her, halmoni. Maybe she doesn’t like me. I’ll see you when I get home.” JunPyo kissed her cheek.

When JunPyo got in her car, JanDi didn’t say a word to him. It was a long silent ride until they reached his workplace.

“JunPyo, please get out of my car now or else I’ll be late for my work.” she gave him an annoying look.

“JanDi, are you still mad at me about what happened this morning? How do you expect me to avoid looking at you? It’s not my fault that you were the one standing in front of me with practically nothing on but your bra and panties.”

“JunPyo!! Let’s just pretend that YOU DIDN’T SEE ANYTHING this morning! I’ll forgive you this time. Next time don’t enter my room without my permission. Do you understand?”

“Alright, I understand. Thanks for dropping me off. You can pick me up whenever you’re done with your work today.” He gave her a swift kiss on the lips. She was about to lift her hand to slap him, but he quickly got off the car.

Scene 2

JunPyo made his way inside Samsung’s building toward the elevator. While waiting for the elevator, he noticed a woman standing next to him. She was wearing a low v-neck navy pinstripe sleeveless dress with a white long sleeved blouse. The empty elevator door slides opened as both of them entered inside. 

Once the elevator door closed, she greeted him, “Annyong haseyo.”

He smiled, “Annyong. Miss, what floor are you going to?” JunPyo asked.

“The 10th floor, please.” she responded.

“Oh, that’s the same floor I’m going. Do you work here Miss?”

“I’m a new employee here. And you?”

“Today is my first day at work. I’ve a meeting with Mr. Lee, the CEO of Samsung.”

Just then the elevator emitted a “ding” sound and stopped. JunPyo glanced at the overhead display and saw the elevator had stopped on the tenth floor. When the door opened, there was a man waiting for them. JunPyo and JaeKyung stepped out of the elevator and greeted Mr. Lee. 

Mr. Lee led them toward his office. “Well, I didn’t expect to see you both here at the same time. Please have a seat.” They were seated at the small conference table.

“JunPyo, this is Shelly Kim. She’s the Director of Operations. You’ll be working with her on the merger case that I’ve told you about this morning.” JaeKyung held out her hand to JunPyo. When his long fingers wrapped around hers, her skin heated with contact.

“JunPyo is the new Vice President of our company. He has many years of management experience in New York. I’ve place him in charge of the merger case.” Mr. Lee told JaeKyung,

“The merger with Panasonic Corporation will need to be completed by the end of this month. I need both of you to oversee this case to ensure the merger go smoothly. You’ll prepare legal documents and meet with the lawyer of Kim & Chang, who is assigned to this case” Mr. Lee explained.

“That will not be a problem and I’ll make sure that the merger went smoothly without a hitch.” JunPyo said.

“I’ll assist JunPyo with gathering the legal documents for the merger.” JaeKyung added.

“That’s good to hear. You both are the top executives in the business world. The two of you will make a great team. I’ll leave this case under your care since I know you both will do a good job.” The CEO praised them.

“Also, I want to inform both of you about our company’s event tonight at 8 PM. The press and reporters will be there during the event. I’ll make an official announcement during the event to welcome both of you to the company. There will be board of directors and top executives from other companies attending tonight event, I will introduce you to them. You’re welcome to bring your guest to this event.”

After the meeting with Mr. Lee, JunPyo invited JaeKyung for lunch in order for both of them to become more acquaintance with one another.

“Ms. Kim, did you grow up in Korea?” JunPyo asked

“Yes, I used to live here until I graduated from high school. My dad sent me to study abroad in California. What about you?” JaeKyung looked at him shyly.

“Well, I left to New York with my parents when I was five years old. My father established a real estate company in New York City.” JunPyo answered.

“Oh really? I’ve a very good friend that works in the real estate sector. His named is JunKi, he’s the #1 real estate tycoon in Los Angeles. We came back to Korea together since he wanted to expand his real estate company in Korea. I’ll introduce you to him if you want to meet him.” JaeKyung said.

“That would be great. I’m looking forward to meet him. About the merger, I’ll introduce you to the lawyer that is in charge of this case” JunPyo said.

“How soon will I meet her?” JaeKyung asked.

“I’ll bring her to the event tonight so you can meet her.” JunPyo stated.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting her.”

“It’s mid-afternoon now, and I’ve some business matters to attend to.” He had told her.

She glanced at her watch, “Okay, we better get back to work. I’ll see you later tonight.”

They got up to leave the restaurant and returned to the office.

JunPyo was preoccupied with business meeting most of the day. It was already 5 PM when he returned to his office. He made a phone call to JanDi.

“Yoboseyo?” JanDi answered

“It’s me JunPyo. When are you going to pick me up? I’m almost done with my work in 30 minutes” JunPyo said.

“Listen, I’m not your personal chauffeur. If you can’t wait for me until 6 PM, then call a taxi.” JanDi said.

“Alright, I’ll wait for you in the front entrance at 6 PM. I’ve to attend an event today at 8 PM and you’re coming with me.”

“Why do I need to come with you?” JanDi asked.

“There is someone I want you to meet. I’ll see you later.” JunPyo hurriedly said goodbye and hung up the phone.

Scene 3

JanDi picked up JunPyo from work. When they’ve arrived at the mansion, both of them went to their rooms to change for tonight event. JanDi was roaming through her closet for a dress to wear. After she had showered, she gazed apprehensively at the dress she chose to wear tonight, before snatching it up and putting it on. She turned to the mirror and quickly applied some powder, blush and soft pink gloss. JunPyo was waiting for JanDi to come downstairs. His attention were focused on JanDi when he saw her gracefully walked down the stairs, his eyes were glued on her. She was wearing a black one shoulder dress and black satin open toe platform shoes with gold inserts and cross-over straps.

Halmoni walked passed and saw JunPyo staring at JanDi.

Halmoni tapped JunPyo’s shoulder, “Aren’t you going to give her a compliment?” She whispered to him. JunPyo was still dumbfounded by JanDi’s beauty.

“JanDi you look very lovely today. Are you going out tonight with JunPyo?” Halmoni said.

“Yes, halmoni. JunPyo and I will be attending Samsung’s event tonight. We'll be back in soon. Did you already have dinner?”

“Don’t worry about me dear. I just have a soup earlier. You guys have fun and enjoy the rest of the evening.” she winked at both of them which made JanDi’s blushed.

The red Ferrari was parked in the front entrance of the mansion. JunPyo led her to his car.

Inside the car, JunPyo commented, “You look beautiful tonight.” He bends his head down to give her a gentle kiss on her cheek.

She quickly wiped her cheek, “Yahh!!! What the hell are you doing? Don’t you dare put a move on me again!!” She scolded him.

“Alright, calm down JanDi. You’re too conservative. When I was living in New York City, people kiss each other on the cheek all the time. It’s nothing serious.”

“Just shut up and drive!!” She exclaimed.

Scene 4

Upon arriving at the event, there were reporters standing by the lobby. JunPyo took hold of JanDi’s hand and twined his fingers through hers as they made their way inside. Inside the entrance hall, there were board of directors, top executives, and employees of the company attending the event. Mr. Lee and JaeKyung approached JunPyo and JanDi when they arrived.

“JunPyo, it’s good to see you. Who’s the beautiful lady next to you?” Mr. Lee asked.

“Mr. Lee, I would like to introduce you to JanDi. She’s a lawyer of Kim & Chang. JanDi is in charge on the merger between our company and Panasonic Corporation.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Mr. Lee.” JanDi shook his hand. She glanced over to JaeKyung, “It’s nice to meet you to Miss….”

“It’s Shelly Kim. I’m the Director of Operations. JunPyo and I will be assisting you with the merger case.” JaeKyung stated.

“Annyong. I’m looking forward to working with you, Shelly.” JanDi held out her hand and gave her a firm handshake. The moment their hands touched, there was a familiar feeling, closeness, and a bond between them.

Mr. Lee interrupted, “Excuse JanDi. I would need to borrow JunPyo and Shelly for a few hours. I hope you don’t mind.”

“Please go ahead, I don’t mind at all.” JanDi responded.

JunPyo looked at her tenderly, “JanDi, I’ll be right back. Why don’t you try some appetizers on the table?”

“Ok, I will. Don’t worry about me. There must be a lot of people you have to meet. I’ll wait over there for you.”

The event program started when Mr. Lee got up on stage to announce the two new executives to the company. JunPyo introduced himself to everyone on stage when he was announced as the Vice President. Follow by JaeKyung who was standing next to JunPyo when she was introduce as the director of operation. After the announcement, JunPyo and JaeKyung were introduced to the board of directors and high ranking official that they will be working with. 

JanDi was filled with jealousy when she saw JaeKyung linking arms and smiling coyly at JunPyo. It made JanDi feel uneasy when he was smiling back at JaeKyung. She went over to the appetizer table grabbed a piece of crab cake. 

“Hello, Miss. We meet again. You look very beautiful tonight.” JunKi walked up behind her.

JanDi looked at him in surprise, “Oh, hello. Sorry, I’ve not formally introduce myself last time. I’m JanDi Goo. And you?”

“I'm Lee JunKi. It's nice to see you here.” He took her hand and kissed it.

“Are you here alone?” She asked.

“No, I’m here with my date. Unfortunately, she’s busy socializing with others.”

“Same here. Would you like some crab cakes? It’s delicious.” JanDi offered him.

“Yes, I would like to try some.” JanDi handed it to him.

“Are you a client of Mr. Jung?” She asked curiously.

“Yes, I went to meet Mr. Jung to seek his legal advice. A friend of my recommended him since Mr. Jung has a extensive experience dealing with corporate matters and start up ventures. I just returned to Korea a few days ago. My intention is to expand my real estate company in Korea.”

“Oh, I see. If there is anything I could help you with, please let me know. Here is my contact.” She handed him her business card. 

JunPyo glanced around the room swiftly. He found JanDi talking and flirting with another man. He felt a tinge of jealousy and insecurity.

JaeKyung noticed it and asked, “Is she your girlfriend?”

“She is not technically my girlfriend. I just met her when I returned to Korea. She has living at my grandmother's house for the past 15 years.” JunPyo said.

“Oh, how did she end up living there?” JaeKyung asked curiously.

“It’s a long story. I’ll tell you about it another time. Excuse me, Shelly. I’ll take my leave now. See you tomorrow.” He stated.

JunPyo hurriedly walked toward JanDi and dragged her out of the hall.

“Yah!! What’s your problem? You’re hurting me.” JanDi screamed at him.

“The event is over. We’re going home.” JunPyo opened the door to let her inside the car.

Shortly after JunPyo and JanDi left the room. JaeKyung walked over to JunKi.

“Are you interested in her?” She asked him.
