Chapter 8

Chapter 8: A New Beginning

Scene 1

[VIP Club]

Alone in a bar, JunPyo downed the whiskey in one. Grabbing the nearly full bottle, he poured himself more while desperately trying to sort out the mess that was in his thoughts. His eyes were darkened with rage when he thought about what JaeKyung told him at the office this evening.

[FLASHBACK]

JaeKyung entered JunPyo’s office.

“JunPyo, there is something that you need to know.” She informed him.

“Is this urgent? I have a meeting in 10 minutes.” JunPyo said.

“Yes, it’s about your fiancée.” JaeKyung told him.

“Has something happened to her?” JunPyo asked.

“Well..why don’t you take a look at this picture?” She handed her cell phone to him. It contained the image of JanDi and JunKi sleeping together.

“How did you get this picture?” JunPyo asked while looking at the picture.

“It doesn’t matter how I got this picture. The point is that your fiancée has been cheating on you with another man. Your wedding is a month away. Are you still going to marry her?” JaeKyung asked.

“That’s none of your concern. Please leave me alone for awhile.”

With a wicked gleam in her eye, she moved closer to him and said, “If I were you, I would reconsider marrying JanDi. If this picture get out to the press, her image and reputations will be ruined.”

“No, don’t you dare send this picture to the press.” He threw her cell phone on the floor. It shattered into pieces.

JaeKyung was in a state of shock when JunPyo stormed out of the office.

[END OF FLASHBACK]

“I figure you would be here.” JunKi find JunPyo sitting alone.

“What do you want?” he glared at him.

“We need to talk. I’m assuming that Shelly showed you the picture of JanDi sleeping with me. Didn’t she?” JunKi asked.

Turning to him, JunPyo asked the question, even though he already knew the answer. “Did you sleep with JanDi?”

Seeing the pain in his eyes, JunKi told him, “We were unconscious during that time. There is nothing going on between me and JanDi. You can rest assure. The picture you saw was part of JaeKyung’s plan.”

“Who’s JaeKyung?” JunPyo was confused.

“It’s Shelly. She is JanDi’s sister.” JunKi answered.

“How could that be?”

“Fifteen years ago, JanDi and JaeKyung grew up together as sisters. Ever since, JaeKyung found that she was adopted. She plotted revenge against JanDi and got rid of her in Jeju Island. Surprisingly, she found out about JanDi’s identity when JanDi was talking about her past.” JunKi told him

“No wonder she wanted me to break up with JanDi.”

“You should go home and take care of your fiancée. She fainted when she heard the news about JaeKyung. I’ll talk some sense to JaeKyung.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was already passed 1AM when JunPyo returned home. He went straights to JanDi’s room. Slowly, he opened the door. JanDi was already asleep. He reached his hand out, running his fingers through the soft tendrils of her hair, and he brought his lips down to her temple, where he left a delicate kiss. She didn’t move or stir, barely even breathed as she slept peacefully. He leaned down delicately and kissed her hand as he looked up at her sleeping face again.
“It must be hard to hear the news about your sister.” He whispered, trying his hardest not to speak too loud.
"No matter what happens. I would always be by your side. I love you, JanDi." He whispered, kissing her temple again as he took a step back and closed the door lightly, he watched her sleep for another moment, before he turned and walked back toward his room.
Scene 2
The next morning, Mrs. Geum received a phone call from the police.
“Mrs. Geum, we received a call from someone that found your daughter, Geum JanDi. She is still alive.” The police said.
“Did you just say that my daughter is still alive?” Mrs. Geum was shock to hear the surprising news.
“Yes, I’ve given her your home address and telephone number so she can contact you.”
“Thanks for informing me about this.” She hung up the phone.
“Who were you talking to?” Mr. Guem asked.
“The police told me that JanDi is still alive.”
“How’s that possible? The police told us that she drowns in Jeongbang Waterfall.” Mr. Geum told his wife.
“Someone saved her. JanDi will be coming to see us soon. After 15 years, my prayer has been answered. Our daughter is still alive.” Mrs. Geum said happily.
A knock on the door disturbed their conversation. Mrs. Geum opened the door to find JanDi standing in front of them. It doesn’t take Mrs. Geum long to recognize JanDi because JanDi look exactly like her when she was that age.
“Omma and Oppa” She embraced her parents. Tears started streaking down her cheeks.
“JanDi, have you been living well for the past 15 years?” Her mother asked. A sense of relieve flooded through her, as she gently embraced JanDi, placing a chaste kiss on her forehead. JanDi closed her eyes and leaned into her mother embrace, feeling safe and loved. After what felt like a lifetime, JanDi removed herself from the embrace
JanDi nodded her head, “Yes, Omma. I’m fortunate to have met Halmoni, JunPyo’s grandmother. His grandmother saved from the incident when we were in Jeju Island. I’ve been living with her after the accident.”
“Thank you for taking care of my child.”
“You’ve a bright and lovable child. JanDi has brought so much joy to my life. She can finally be part of my family since she’ll be marrying my grandson.”
“This is JunPyo. He is my fiancée. I’m getting married next month and I want you to be part of my wedding.” JanDi told her parents.
JunPyo looked at JanDi’s parents and said, “It’s nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Geum. I want to let you know that I’m serious about your daughter and I would like to ask for your daughter’s hand in marriage.”
“If both of you are in love with each other. I give you my blessing and accept your upcoming marriage.” Mr. Geum give them his approval.
“Of course, we will be there for your wedding. After all, you’re my only child.” Mrs. Geum said.
“I think you forgot about JaeKyung. I should probably contact her to let her know that JanDi is still alive.” Mr. Geum told JanDi.
“There is no need for you to contact me. I’m already here.” JaeKyung interrupted.
“Can everyone excuse us? I need to talk to JaeKyung in private.” JanDi told everyone.
Now that JaeKyung was standing face to face with her sister. There was tension in the air.
“What do you want to talk about?” JaeKyung asked.
“Do you remember this?” She handed the pink bracelet.
“What about it?” JaeKyung tried to hide her emotion.
“My sister once told me that this bracelet is a symbol of our sisterhood. I believe her since I thought she was sincere about it. Never in my life would I’ve thought that she tried to kill me in Jeongbang Waterfall. Would you be happy if I was really dead?” She looked at JaeKyung.
“I guess you already got your memory back. To be honest, I regret my action toward you. I’ve been living with guilt for the past 7 years since the incident. When I found out that I was adopted and that omma love you more than me. I was filled with anger and hatred toward you. Then when I found out that you’re still alive, the feelings came flooding back again causing me to think irrationally.”
She knelt down on the floor in front of JanDi and begs her for forgiveness. “I was wrong for what I did to you. I meant every word I said to you at the tree house. You’ll always be my sister even if we’re not related.”
“Since you’ve confess your wrongdoings. I’ve already forgiving you, but it’ll take me sometime to trust you again.” JanDi told her.
“I understand. I won’t force you to accept me as your sister until I’ve earned your trust. Congratulations on your engagement. JunPyo really loves you. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.”
“Thank you for your blessing. By the way, how did you know that I would return home?” JanDi asked.
“JunKi came over to my place this morning. He already told the truth to you and JunPyo about my real identity. He warned me to stop with this deception and lied before it get out of hand. I’ve realized my wrongdoings. The reason I’m here is to ask for your forgiveness. I figure you would return home since you’ve found out the truth.” JaeKyung explained.
“JunKi is a great guy. I can see that he’s sincere about you. If you give him a chance, you’ll see that he’s in love with you.” JanDi said.
“He’s a special person to me. I might not be good enough for him, but I’ll try my best to become a better person. We have some issues to clear before we could move on to the next level. I’ll be leaving now to visit him.”
“Take care, JaeKyung. I would like to invite both of you to my wedding.” She handed her the wedding card.
“We’ll be there.” JaeKyung told her.
After bidding farewell to JanDi, she saw her mother waiting for her in the front door.
“Hello, Omma.” JaeKyung said.
“You probably wonder why I didn’t treat you like JanDi. The truth is you are not my daughter. You were adopted. I’ve realized now that I’ve been mistreated and hurt in so many ways. I was an unfit mother to raise you when you were growing up. Let’s start our relationship as mother and daughter from the beginning. I hope it’s not too late. What do you say JaeKyung?”
“Omma, this is what I’ve always wanted from you. How about I pick you up next week and take you out shopping?” JaeKyung suggested.
“Of course, sweetie. After shopping, we could go eat dinner together.” Mrs. Geum smiled at her.
“Okay, Omma. I’ll pick you up next Saturday.” JaeKyung told her mother.
Scene 3
[One Month Later]
A day before their official wedding, JunPyo’s parents returned to Korea.
“Hello Mrs. Goo and Mr. Goo. It’s such an honor to finally meet you.” JanDi greeted JunPyo’s parents.
“JanDi, halmoni has told me so much about you since we returned to Korea. I heard you’re a lawyer from Kim & Chang. You're such a beautiful and smart lady, my son is very lucky to have you as his wife. I can finally hold my grandchild soon.” Mrs. Goo said.
“Yes, JanDi. I hope we could hold our first grandchild soon.” Mr. Goo added.
“Appa, don’t worry. I’ll make sure that JanDi is pregnant by the time we returned from our honeymoon. All she going to see when we go to New York is the ceiling.” JunPyo told his parents.
“Yah! Nuh jook-goh shipuh [Do you want to die]?! She hissed at JunPyo.
“We’ll be in Korea for a month with Halmoni. Why don’t you stay at our house in New York City for your honeymoon?” Mrs. Goo told her son.
“Thanks Omma.” JunPyo told her.
[Wedding Day]
JunPyo’s eyes were drawn down the aisle and he saw JanDi walking toward him with her dad by her side. She was absolutely stunning in her floor length gown with her hair pulled up. She glided effortlessly toward him, watching his face the whole way. He smiled at her, the way JanDi always made him smile. As she got closer, he could see her mouth the words “I love you.” He winked at her and mouthed “I love you, too.”
She gracefully walked toward him as they clasped their hands together and said their fateful vows to each other. You could see the love shining in the eyes of both lovers standing across from each other.
“JanDi, you are a precious gift to me; my springtime, my hope and my joy. You are everything that's good and pure and true, and I worship you with my mind, body and soul. How blessed I am to be able to say that you are mine, to be able to love and cherish you, for the rest of my days. I vow to always put you first in my life, always be there to comfort you in your sorrow, and rejoice with you in your victories. May our hearts and very breath become one as we unite this day as husband and wife. I promise to be your true love, from this day forward, and forevermore.” JunPyo placed a wedding band on her ring finger.
“JunPyo, I bring myself to you this day to share my life with you. You can trust my love, for it's real. I promise to be a faithful mate, and to unfailingly share and support your hopes, dreams, and goals. I vow to be there for you always. When you fall, I will catch you; when you cry, I will comfort you; when you laugh, I will share your joy. Everything I am, and everything I have is yours, from this moment forth, and for eternity.” She slipped the gold band on his ring finger.
As they finished saying their vows to each other, many in attendance had tears in their eyes.
“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.” With those words JunPyo kissed JanDi passionately for the first time as husband and wife.
Everyone clapped and stood up for the happy new couple.
Throughout the rest of the ceremony, JaeKyung continued smiling and kept thinking her own private thoughts. The day before the wedding JunKi has proposed to her and she can’t wait to be married like her sister. JaeKyung was happy that her sister was getting married to the man of her dreams.
Scene 4
[New York City]
When they’ve reached the house, JunPyo carried JanDi to his bedroom. They were surprise that his room was decorated for with red roses and vanilla scented candles.
“My parents must have planned this.” JunPyo told her.
“JanDi, let’s take a bath in the Jacuzzi.”
He unbutton his shirt, while JanDi is standing there watching him.
“What’s wrong JanDi?”
“I can’t change if you are look at me.” She told him shyly.
“Yah…But I already saw you naked before. Why are you still shy? Here, let me help you.” He offered.
“No, I can manage.” Slowly she started to unfasten the buttons of her blouse one by one. It was her attempt to do a striptease in front of JunPyo. Through sensually lowered lashes, she saw that with every button that she freed the tension in JunPyo heightened. His bare chest fell and rose rapidly.
JanDi shrugged her blouse off her shoulders. Just as slowly, she undid the button of her skirt and it too fell on the floor. Clad only in a lacey bra and panty, JunPyo took a step towards JanDi. His quick intake of breath told her how much she affects him.
JanDi knelt at JunPyo’s feet. She reached to unclasp his belt and pants. Even before she could touch the zipper, JanDi felt his erection. As she pulled his pant and boxers off him, seeing the confirmation of his arousal made her breathless. Soon she would feel him inside her but not just yet. She steps inside the Jacuzzi and motion him to come join her.
“JunPyo, I’ve something to confess.” She leaned against him
“What’s it?”
“I’ve crushed on you since I was six years old. I saw your picture at Halmoni’s house.”
“I know. I read your diary.”
“Yah…How could you? I can’t believe you sneak in my room and read my diary.” She splashed water at him.
“Well, if I didn’t read it. Would I have found out that you’ve been in love with for the past fifteen years? You never say that you love me.” JunPyo told her.
“Of course, I love you. The reason I have never told you from the beginning is because I am afraid that you would not have the same feeling for me.” JanDi explained.
“When I saw you at the airport, I knew that you were the one for me. I’ve wanted to get close to you.” He confessed.
“Really?” she asked.
“Yes, it’s truth.” JunPyo kissed her then, lightly caressing her lips with his own. After a few moments, he pulled away, searching her eyes. Holding her gaze, JunPyo gently stroked her cheek with his thumb. JanDi leaned in and kissed him passionately. As his heart hammered in his chest, he felt her hands twining themselves through his hair. Struggling to keep up, he began stroking her back and pulling her closer. His hands traveled lower, his fingertips brushing the bare skin of her thigh. The jolt of electricity generated from the contact caused them pull away from each other abruptly.
“Let’s wash up so we embark on our baby making next.” He winked at her.
He carried her toward the bed and gently laid her on the bed. He climbed on top of her and kissed her lips gently.
“I need you.” She moaned.
She arched her back and pushing herself deeper into his kisses. She wrapped her legs around his waist, urging him to come inside her. JunPyo obliged her request, plunging into her warmth. She rolled her body against his as her hands roamed up and down his back. JunPyo pressed deeper, harder, and faster. She tried to match against his intensity. He pulled her close to him as he began to climax. JanDi could feel her love juices coming down as she squeezed her legs tighter around him, pulling him even closer as they reached the climax.
“I love you…Mrs. Goo. My lovely wife.” He groaned in delight.
“I love you too...Mr. Goo. My wonderful and handsome husband.” She gently kissed his lips.
